In the Maasai community, efforts have been ongoing to see how the community, largely women, has been impacted by the Audio Bibles.

A community often disenchanted by cultural norms, the women narrate how the teachings have been instrumental in changing their lives and those of their families. Mary Ngirimu and Ann Sangare share testimonies with us.

Maasai Women and the Audio Bible

To Mary, her salvation and desire for baptism drove her husband to wonder what was in scripture that pulled her wife towards such a direction, something he considered was only for children to do. After listening to the gospel, Mary narrates that both her son and husband today go to church to listen to God’s word, a transformation made possible by the Audio Bible. We continue to work with the indigenous community as the primary drivers of growth towards changing lives.

Ann Ngirimu, on the other hand, appreciates how the Bible depicts lack. Jesus feeding the five thousand with only five loaves of bread and two fish was a message of hope that depicts universal kinship. She further talks of how Jesus clearly defines boundaries and shows the church that, beyond lineage and blood, we are all brothers and sisters.

We continue to work with the indigenous community as the primary drivers of growth towards changing lives and spreading the gospel.
