Stephen Omondi’s journey began behind a microphone, but not on a grand stage. As a young radio producer, his passion was to reach the masses with messages of hope. Today, as a Technician at Theovision International Kenya, he is doing just that, bringing the Word of God to life in the heart languages of forgotten communities across Africa. He joined Theovision as a Translator and then grew his ambition to focus on language recordings.
“Growing up, I loved being behind the microphone. Now I get to use that same passion to record Scripture that brings people to Christ.”

His work is no small feat. From East Africa to West Africa, Theovision technicians have journeyed to remote villages where electricity is scarce and meals are often limited to once a day. Stephen shares how they have endured harsh weather and tough conditions to bring the word of God to communities that are hardest to reach. Stephen and his team set up makeshift studios, sometimes due to lack of electricity, they are forced to use generators for up to 30 days straight just to record Scripture in the voices of local communities.
The cost? long days, unpredictable terrain, security threats, and the challenge of limited resources.
“This is not just work. It’s calling. And it brings peace like nothing else.” Says Stephen.
The impact is eternal. A non-believer in South Sudan reversed his decision to divorce his wife after listening to an Audio Bible. A young man’s life was spared in Tanzania because he chose an Audio Bible listening session over a planned robbery. Entire churches have been planted in unreached areas where Scripture had never been heard before.
Each audio recording involves careful planning: identifying native speakers, training them, finding safe and quiet recording spaces, and handling unpredictable logistics like food, security, and shelter.

The need is great. While the passion runs deep, the resources often fall short. More hands, equipment, and funding are needed to reach the thousands still waiting to hear God’s Word in their own language.
You can help make that possible.
