In the heart of Kajiado County, our team journeyed all the way to Oletepesi to conduct a two-day Bible listening group training. The local community was very receptive when they noticed their local language in the audio Bible, a move that is sure to bring transformation within the Maasai community.
The local hosts were very welcoming to the team. Navigating the hot climate and the interesting terrain, a warm welcome was initiated by a cup of chai (tea). After a hearty conversation, the people were ready to learn more about the Word of God.
The local pastor, pastor John Ngopiyo, shared a brief testimony of his journey to Christ. Raised as a shepherd boy, all he knew was to tend to the animals in the bush. One time, he passed by a few people talking about Jesus, and his life changed. He began seeking who Christ was, and though he could not read, he listened to people sharing the word.
Today, he has the Bible in his local Maasai language and will continue to share the word with the people of his community in a way they best understand.

The training was wholesome, with day one creating more awareness on the need for bible listening groups. This set a foundation for the people to embrace communal listening. Day two was more of a celebration, where the community was overjoyed to receive audio Bibles and their certificates.
“Thank you for bringing good things to us,” many of the men and women kept on saying that as they showed the audio Bibles.
Something about receiving these audio Bibles left a mark on this community at Oletepesi. Our team is certain that the 25 audio Bibles shared will generate more than 25 audio Bible listening groups, a move that is sure to skyrocket the vision for Theovision Kenya-that all may hear His voice and be transformed.
