In the remote village of Telesgaye, Marsabit County, lives Kakua Ode, a woman who never had a chance to attend school. But today, she speaks of a different kind of learning, one that has transformed her life through the power of God’s Word.

Kakua Ode at a Bible Listening Group training by Theovision Kenya

Before Theovision International – Kenya introduced the Audio Bible to her community, Kakua and many others had no access to Scripture. Most people in the area cannot read, and churches are few and far between. For those like Kakua, who longed to know God but lacked the tools, the Bible felt out of reach.

“The Bible Listening Group is like a school,” she said. “It’s where I sit, listen, and grow in the knowledge of God. I’ve learned truths I never knew before. Now I know Jesus is near, and His Word is for people like me even if we’ve never been to school.”

That all changed when Bible Listening Groups were launched. “We began listening over and over,” she shared during a recent conversation, “and something happened, we started to understand.” For Kakua, these gatherings became more than moments of fellowship; they became her classroom.

Kakua Receives her Training Certificate

Kakua’s testimony reflects a deep hunger for God’s Word and a passion to see others grow in faith. She’s seen firsthand how access to the Audio Bible has changed hearts, united neighbors, and sparked spiritual renewal among those previously overlooked.

Yet, the need remains great.

Currently, only a few devices circulate among dozens of groups in the area. Kakua’s prayer is simple: that one day, every manyatta will have its own Audio Bible. “May the Lord provide,” she says with quiet hope, “so that when you return, you’ll come with even more Proclaimers, and many more hearts will be transformed just like mine.”
