When the Theovision Kenya team finally reached Nampula, weary from days on the road, they were warmly received. The venue was simple, a local church compound where space had been prepared. It was perfect: welcoming, open, and filled with believers eager to learn. People had been waiting since morning, smany longing to hear the Word in a form they could understand. “His grace is sufficient; His power is made perfect in weakness,” one of the team reflected.

The training was rich. Men and women, young and old, leaned in as the team explained how to use the Proclaimer. Faces lit up when they realized this small device could bring the Bible alive in their language, to be listened to together as a group. Some were moved to tears. One pastor declared, This is the answer to our prayer. For years we have asked God to give us a way to reach those who cannot read or write. Now, with these Bibles, the Word will go far.”

At the end, Audio Bibles and certificates were distributed to group leaders. The joy was tangible, clapping, ululations, quiet thanksgivings. One woman held her device tenderly, saying, “I have always desired to read the Bible, but I cannot read. Today, God has answered my prayer. I can now hear His Word with my family.” She said she would treat it like her second baby.

The Jesus Film and Youth Impartations for Evangelism

The village church was already overflowing with men, women, children pressed in. The church was the only light in that area. Loud music from a nearby group stopped within minutes of the film starting. Even those 200 meters away turned their eyes to the glowing screen. The crowd swelled to more than 150, transfixed by the story of Jesus.

After the film, the youth evangelism leader preached, and about 20 people surrendered their lives to Christ. The people pleaded for another film, so the team showed Daniel. One team member was asked to share a word. He preached from Revelation 5: Christ redeeming people from every tribe and tongue. The Holy Spirit moved powerfully. Youth were imparted for evangelism and the church was deeply encouraged.

Back at the church, the commissioning service unfolded with joy. Audio Bibles and certificates were distributed with demonstrations of how to use them: moving from one book to another, charging, and care. “It’s like being given a car,” one team member said. “If you don’t know how to drive, it just sits there.” Participants learned eagerly, pledging to begin Bible Listening Groups immediately.

Pastor Romeno Carico, the host, spoke with conviction: This partnership is the beginning of a movement. With these audio Bibles, our churches will grow deeper, and many new listening groups will be born.”hes and neighborhoods. By the end, they graduated with fresh determination to carry the Word into their communities.
