When the Word For All team set out for Bible Listening Group trainings in Tanzania and Mozambique, they did not anticipate that God would weave such a striking pattern into their journey. In three different places: Dar es Salaam, Nampula, and Montepuez, they encountered three men, each named Mohamed. To the team, this was no coincidence. Click here to read more
In Montepuez, where Portuguese is the dominant language, communication was a challenge since the team only spoke English. Then came the first Mohamed, a man who had once lived in Kenya and could speak English fluently. He became their guide and helper. The team shared an Audio Bible with him, and weeks later, he joyfully testified that he had been listening especially to the Books of Hebrews and 1 Peter which had strengthened his faith amid deadly conflict in his region. “Pray for us,” he added. His faith in the midst of war was both humbling and profound.

In Nampula, the second Mohamed welcomed the weary team into his home after bus delays left them stranded late at night. What could have been a moment of fear turned into a divine appointment a reminder that God provides rest and refuge through the kindness of strangers.
Finally, in Dar es Salaam, the third Mohamed helped the team purchase SIM cards so they could access calls, texts, and data an act that seemed small, yet proved essential for their communication in a foreign land.
What seemed like chance encounters became clear markers of God’s grace.
